Follicular Unit Grafting is one of the most important features of hair transplantation. While follicular units grow in groups of one to four hairs, correct grafting is essential for survival and growth of a hair transplantation procedure. If it's hair from the hairline or scalp, eyebrow, eyelash, beard, moustache, chest or body hair, having the right technique for follicular unit grafting is essential.

As we can see in the above image, hair follicles have different diameters, different lengths, different cycle stages, and have different curved directions. Hence, follicular unit grafting is our special technique to place the new follicles in the correct direction, length, angulations, depth to achieve the most natural results.

Extraction of the follicular units can be done by follicular unit extraction (FUE) or Follicular Unit Strip Surgery (FUSS).

Single hair follicular units are some of the most important grafts in a hair transplant, as they can be implanted very close together and form the correct density. The above image shows different single hair follicular grafts. For procedures such as eyebrow and eyelash transplants, a more curved folicular unit is preferred. Thickness of a hair follicle is also essential to provide the right gradient change, hair mass and density.

We can make a relation from a hair transplant and a painting. Strokes from a painting might be more subtle or more coarse depending on the effect we want to produce. That is why we believe that follicular unit grafting under stereoscopic microscopes is an essential part of our hair transplant procedures.
