Techniques

• Stereomicroscope Follicular Unit Hair Transplantation

Dr. Nader is devoted solely to performing high quality all microscopically prepared hair transplantation, with very large sessions of over 5,000 grafts.

In a Stereomicroscope Follicular Unit Hair Transplant, a narrow strip of donor hair is removed from the back of the scalp with a new trichophytic incision technique and then that area is sutured perfectly. The donor hair taken from the back is then processed in special Stereomicroscopes where follicular units are carefully identified and separated from the surrounding skin without damaging the hair shaft or hair bulb. Dr. Nader and his surgical staff have the experience and the proper technique to ensure proper handling of each hair. Special protocols are used for donor hair and recipient area, so that the new hair will grow and last a lifetime. Our dedication to hair restoration surgery has perfected the Follicular Grafting Technique. Hair placement is an essential part of any hair transplant where density is achieved using coronal, sagital and angular placement of the donor hair resulting in a very natural dense look..

Dr. Nader's surgeries often take a full day to perform due to his attention to detail and complete involvement in all aspects of the surgery. Dr. Nader carefully creates all the incisions for these grafts, determining the pattern and direction of the new hair. He then works with his technicians in placing each follicular unit.

His strong surgical background in Aesthetic and Cosmetic surgery has enabled him to develop strong competencies in performing follicular unit hair transplant surgery.

• Follicular Unit Extraction

Dr. Nader has been refining a hair transplant procedure in which individual follicular Units are extracted, one by one, under magnification from the donor area at the back of the head, creating grafts that are identical to those generated by stereo-microscopic dissection. This procedure is commonly called Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE). Dr. Nader's extensive background in aesthetic surgery gives him an ideal grounding for the detailed microscopic work needed to perform this procedure.

With this technique, a special 0.96 millimeter or smaller instrument (depending on hair diameter) is placed directly over an individual follicular unit and passed partially through the skin. Then, the follicular unit is extracted, leaving an incision small enough to leave an imperceptible donor scar. The extracted grafts are then examined under a stereo-microscope to sort the follicular unit according to size. Healing is quick, scarring is virtually nonexistent, and discomfort in the donor area has been virtually eliminated.

• Hair Transplant for Women

Hair loss in women can have an important effect over their self-esteem. Hair extensions and hair perms can camouflage the hair loss but can also damage and increase the hair damage making the problem more apparent.

Fortunately, a correct diagnosis and evaluation can help determine the possible cause for the hair loss and correct it. Treatments for both female androgenetic alopecia and non-genetic causes differ from men's treatment because a different approach is needed in order to achieve success.

• Female androgenetic alopecia

Most women with female androgenetic alopecia experience gradual thinning in the frontal and midline areas of the scalp, and only notice it when hair styling becomes more difficult than before.

Women with long hair notice a gradual drop in the thickness and volume of their hair. It all begins as a miniaturization of the hair, followed by the complete loss of that hair just as in the male component of hair loss, but women retain the majority of their hairline. In some cases though, hair loss is very similar to the male pattern hair loss, with recession of the temples and hairline.

Hair loss may first become noticeable in a small percentage of females in their 20's, but female pattern baldness may end up affecting 25 - 30% of women after age 50.

Both varieties of female hair loss and scars from the face-lifts or brow-lifts typically do very well with hair transplant surgery.

In addition to doing excellent hair transplantation, with as many as 5,000 all microscopically prepared follicular unit grafts in one session, he also frequently repairs patients who have had outdated and prior hair transplant procedures performed.
